MILITARY FUNERAL - Harry Palmby, a Burwell young man, who joined the Army some seven or eight weeks ago, and died, after a short illness, in hospital at Cambridge, was buried in the churchyard at Burwell with full military honours on Tuesday. The cortege was headed by a firing party of soldiers and several buglers. Three volleys were fired over the grave, and then the firing party, with fixed bayonets, present arms, while the buglers sounded the "Last Post". The Rev.N.A.B. Borton (vicar) read the service, and there was a very large assemblage at the graveside. The deceased (a farm labourer by occupation) was only 31 years of age, and was a son of Mr. Arthur Palmby of Burwell. He had applied for enlistment some months previous to being accepted, but was refused on account of deafness. Two of his brother are serving in the Army.

Harry Palmby is buried in Burwell (St Mary's) Churchyard (near south boundary).
